On the 28th of September a long-awaited project Design. Living Tendency 2016 has started in Kyiv. It is the largest exhibition of the most relevant trends in the interior, furniture, light, decor, home textiles and technologies for the home in Ukraine. The founders of the architectural group MAD Group Bochulya Andrey and Maria Vergezova have visited the exhibition and appreciated the latest trends of the private and public spaces improvement, as well as the innovative solutions of Ukrainian and foreign manufacturers.
The main impression of the exhibition is a pride for our country and its talents, when in Kyiv, near the Ukrainian furniture, there is a respectable nameplate “Red Dot Design Awards”. The award was received by Ukrainian Pavel Vetrov for the collection of furniture in the black colour with the golden decorative elements, which is one of the most popular trends in 2016.
At the Design. Living Tendency you can travel back to the atmosphere of an old Belgian Chalet:
texture of real wood in the worktop of the age-old table, brass fixtures, elegant place settings of the holiday table, candles and elegant decor. Just in a moment, you are simply breathing the frosty air of the New Year’s Bruges and Charleroi.
A truly new approach in working with the concrete has pleasantly surprised us. One of the most popular materials lately has modified and acquired new properties – it became smooth, glossy and colourful. We are incredibly happy that now the quality of the concrete products can be placed on a par with ceramics and natural stone. The bright sofas and armchairs that tempt everyone to sit down became a bright accent of the exhibition. MAD Group warns: if you sit down on these sofas you risk to stay on them until the end of the exhibition!
It should be noted that Ukrainian specialized architecture media do not stand still on their place – we were delighted by a futuristic magazine’s stand, which was designed in the style of the legendary Zaha Hadid, using an interactive displays and holographic effects.
Professional advice from the designers: while preparing for such exhibition, do not forget your purse, because with a lot of catalogues you certainly will take a vase, bowl or a new lamp with you. A lot of the modern and stylish French, Belgian and English decor items can be bought here with a 30%, or even 50% discount!
Unfortunately, some of the stands at the exhibition of the design and decor have disappointed us by its complete absence. Today more and more often we do not buy a particular item, but the emotion, and the MAD Group calls for a careful approach to the creation of atmosphere, design, we also recommend you to add a drop of love to everything you do! Make A Difference! Be MAD!
